Rick and I always thought we had a good marriage. But as time unfolded anger beneath the surface came out in nightly nitpicking sessions. Arguments lurked around every corner, about me, about him, the kids, the bills, always something. Each of us had to have the last word. Then, God stepped in in a big way. I got saved and started going to church every Sunday. My heart burned for Rick to get saved, but the more I talked the less he heard. Then I came across 1 Peter 3:1: Wives, likewise, be Submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey (or Believe) the word, they, without a word, may be won over by the conduct of their wives.
Wow, this was God speaking to me! I started praying this passage daily and never again mentioned church, being saved, or scripture. It only took a couple of months before Rick agreed to come to church. His attendance was occasional, then frequent, then finally he came every week. Rick gave his life to Christ and our marriage began to transform. . . .
