We are excited to present Generation Interns: a two-year training program, where you will come to discover that God has a true purpose for your life, and that it is inseparably intertwined with His love. We feel God has given us a strategy in which the spiritual, the academic and the practical come together through the love of God to develop well-rounded leaders for the future. We believe that this balanced approach to developing our Interns will prepare them to lead their generation in the greatest move of God our world has ever seen.
Classroom instruction
Instruction sessions include accredited courses in basic doctrine & Bible courses, practical ministry, and relevant life issues that equip each Intern with foundational truths that build character and knowledge essential for Kingdom service. Through City Bible Institute and the Generation Intern program, we are now able to offer an Assoc. in Theology Degree.
Leadership Lab
We believe in an "inflow-outflow" model here at The City Church. We believe it is impossible to follow Jesus Christ to the fullest without the honor of serving others. After being "poured into" each morning (via classes, prayer, mentoring), interns will take part in ten hours of "Lab Time" per week. Here, Interns work hands-on in various kinds of ministry throughout the church such as Media, Worship, Children, etc.
Missions & Outreach
The Generation Intern program offers monthly outreach opportunities through social justice events in our own city. We also offer mission trips to Washington D.C, Seattle and to our 3 church plants in Tijuana, Mexico. As a second year intern you will have the opportunity to experience international mission trips to countries like Nicaragua & Honduras.
Lifestyle
As an Intern, you are required to commit to a lifestyle of intimacy with God through prayer and Bible reading, to allow God to shape your character, and to submit to Godly authority. In the application process you will sign a Pledge of Honor that explain further in detail the requirements of being a Generation Intern.
